Rosenblum Lyons Reserve Zinfandel Napa Valley (2006)
Rank: 3rd Place
Rating: 90
Approximate Price: $45
Cutting: A powerful wine with loads of chocolate, coffee, spice, berry and licorice characteristics that some will love, but may not be to everyone’s liking.
The Rosenblum Lyons Reserve Zinfandel from Napa Valley hits your nose with a strong rush of chocolate, mocha, coffee and raisin aromas that somewhat overpower the red and blue fruit. It comes together on the palate where spice, coffee, blackberry, cassis, chocolate and raisin flavors are highlighted. Strong licorice notes are found on the medium to long finish. Although this wine ranked third in our Napa Valley Zinfandel tasting, it was a very close three-way battle. A powerful wine that may not appeal to everyone, but some Zinfandel fans will love.
