Wine Spectator Zinfandel Reviews
Wine Spectator Magazine published its annual Zinfandel review in its June 30, 2010 issue. Unfortunately, readers of the printed magazine see ratings for only about 25 wines and complete reviews for none. Complete ratings and reviews are available only to online subscribers. Most of the article is devoted to raving about the overall quality of the 2007 vintage.
Many of Wine Spectator’s top ratings go to wines that are very difficult to obtain. We find that their ratings and reviews – for Zins and other wines – often are dramatically different from ours. However, there are some similarities. For example, the magazine’s ratings of Seghesio Sonoma County 2008 and Old Vines 2007 are strong, 88 and 89 points respectively, but lower than for some of the outstanding vintages in past years. That is consistent with our recent Zinfanatic ratings.

Very nice, gives me a lot of inspiration being right in the midst of a redesign. It’s all in the details and comment forms are definitely overlooked more often than not. Time well spent on this post.
